Regional FMNP Meeting Print
Saturday, May 12 2007, 08:30 - 14:00
FMNP will hold its West Central Regional Meeting at Camp Bayou in Ruskin. Gates open for early arrivals at 8:30 am. Breakfast courtesy of FMNP grad Alligator Bob’s Discovering Florida Ecotours.

Dolly Cummings, FMNP Instructor will provide an overview of Camp Bayou. Enjoy a canoe trip around the island. We will have room for 20 people who don't have their own paddle-power, thanks to Hillsborough County Parks, Rec and Conservation who is letting us borrow their 10 canoes. If you do have a canoe or kayak that you can bring, it will help ensure that everyone will have an opportunity to enjoy a leisurely paddle around the island south of Camp Bayou. It is an easy paddle, only complicated if unusually windy- current is generally slow.

Lunch (lunch may be sponsored by the Ruskin Community Development Foundation- Dolly will send follow-up email the week before meeting).

Enjoy meeting other naturalist graduates—trade ideas about your chapters, programs, modules. Offer ideas and suggestions for our next FMNP Annual

For those who don't wish to go on guided walk, the gates will be open until 2pm so everyone can explore the trails, exhibits and fossil museum on their own.

Directions: Camp Bayou is located 3 miles south of SR 674 (exit 240W on I-75) at the end of 24th St SE in Ruskin. If you are using Map Ques, the address to enter is 4140 24th St SE, Ruskin, FL 33570. Our mailing address is different and will land you about 7 miles short of your destination if you use that. For more info on Camp Bayou, visit www.campbayou.org.
