Roosevelt Wetlands Print

Small wetlands area off 43rd St. N, We will look for Least Bittern, Purple Gallinule, snipe, various sparrow species, Black-necked Stilt, Limpkin, Moorhen, Killdeer and Green Heron. In the winter Caspian and Royal terns commonly feed here, as do Osprey and Bald Eagles. Also seen: Red-shouldered, Red-tailed, Cooper's and Broad-winged hawks. Meet at 8am at Sears, 94th Ave. N & 9th St., St. Petersburg, to carpool. Leaders: Don & Lorraine Margeson.
