| Spring is here and so is the anticipated return of least terns and black skimmers to Pinellas County beaches and rooftops. The birds, St. Petersburg Audubon, Clearwater Audubon, and
Beth Forys, PhD, Professor of Environmental Studies & Biology
Eckerd College, need your help. Volunteers are needed to participate in beach walks and monitor rooftop colonies. The training session (rooftop & beaches) starts at 5:30-6:15 probably at Hall’s rooftop at 3101 44th Ave N, St Petersburg.
If there is an active rooftop
(perhaps Hall's,) we'll visit it from 5:30-6:15pm. Then at 6:30-8:30pm, we will meet at Panera Bread, 1908 4th Street N. in St. Petersburg.in the community room at Panera's (1908 4th
St. N, St. Pete). You can buy yourself
something to eat and we'll talk.
If you can't make the training, you can still be
involved. We will be soliciting your
help soon. We'll be looking to see if
rooftops are occupied from April 28th to May 2.
The first beach survey is Sunday morning, April 27th.
