Publix gets some Decoys |
|
|
Hats off to "Suds", John Hood, for manufacturing some Least Tern decoys
and placing them on the roof at the Belleair Publix. Publix was, as
usual, very cooperative in allowing Suds access to the roof. While he
was finishing the placement of the decoys the terns were circling above
and one landed on the roof!
That afternoon a Least Tern landed and sat next to one of the decoys for a
while. Then later two Terns landed next to a pair of
decoys, stayed a few minutes and then flew off.
A couple of Crows were hanging around, walking under the A/C units.
They were chased off by a Mockingbird and a Common Grackle; the LETE
didn't seem to care about the Crow. Also there were always a few
Laughing Gulls hanging around, one was eating a tater-tot looking thing.
