Upcoming Field Trip: Brooker Creek Preserve

Get ready for sparrows on January 18th! Ron Smith will lead this walk, starting at 8:00am. Meet at the main visitor’s center parking lot, where you can use the restroom before getting started. First, we’ll look for birds in the hammock at the parking lot. Then, we’ll drive to nearby locations for sparrows.

Please bring a hat, binoculars, water, insect repellant, and sunscreen.

Note: Unfortunately, due to weather this weekend, the field trip scheduled for January 11th at Cypress Point Park has been cancelled.

Field Trip Recap: Crescent Lake

On this beautiful morning, we had a great group of 24 people, led by John Ficken, birding around Crescent Lake. The group documented 46 species, including Ring-necked Ducks, a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, a Yellow-throated Warbler, and plenty of Fish Crows and Blue Jays! We also had a few new faces to our trip - we hope to see you next time!
