Program: Make & Repair Seabird Chick Shelters!

Program: Make, Repair, Paint, and Stencil Black Skimmer and Least Tern Chick Shelters!

Sunday, January 11 2-4pm

Coordinators: Abby MacKay, Beth Reynolds and Beth Forys

Black Skimmers and Least Terns nest on open beaches, which are often raked and devoid of vegetation. We put out chick shelters to give chicks a safe place to cool off inside the colony. We need more made, a few repaired, and they all need a fresh coat of paint and a stencil letting the public know what they are!

Location: Eckerd College (parking lot near the pool). Bathrooms are nearby.

What to bring/wear?

  • Power drills

  • Old clothing that can get paint on it!

  • We will provide everything else

We will have a link soon to register. Capped at 20 people!
